USC International Students Welcome Party 2009

A general assembly and welcome party for international students was held last Saturday afternoon, June 11, at the Theodore Buttenbruch Hall, Main Campus. The event was successfully organized by the officers of the USC International Students Association for AY 2009-2010 in cooperation with the Office of External Affairs, Office of the University Registrar and the Office of Student Affairs.

Fr. President Dionisio Miranda formally welcomed all international students who are enrolled in the University’s different academic programs. Fr. Louie Punzalan, Coordinator for International Students, outlined the program of activities for the school year and encouraged active participation by everyone. Paul Ole Sikamoi, a 3rd year Kenyan Pharmacy student and President of the USC International Students Association, delivered the closing remarks.

One hundred ninety-one international students are enrolled in the University for the First Semester, AY 2009-2010. There are 95 Koreans, 36 Kenyans, 15 Iranians, 9 Americans, 8 Mainland Chinese, 6 Japanese, 3 Canadians, 3 Indonesians, 3 Timorese, 2 Germans, 2 Malaysians, 2 Marshallese, 1 Indian, 1 Micronesian, 1 Nepalese, 1 Pakistani, 1 Spanish, 1 Swedish, 1 Thai and 1 Vietnamese.
