So there is a website for the University of San Carlos Inter-Fraternity and Sorority Council (USC-IFSC)! I found it in Wiki.
The website is not complete though and some links redirect to an image hosting site for the site photo gallery. Few fraternity links were tied to spam "ad" sites. I tried to search for the exact office location, but it only says "USC-TC" with no room number. A mobile number and email address are provided, however.
I wrote a couple of weeks ago a post "Where's Greek Life in USC". I mentioned why links to fraternity websites are not included in the main university site. Fraternities and Sororities must be acknowledged for they are part of "student life" or "campus life" as well. I couldn't imagine how many students these organizations have helped through the years! There may be bad news thrown here and there, but what the heck! They should count the fun and happy days too and, sure, the bad news are outnumbered.

With this number of Fraternity and Sorority organizations existing in USC, why can't they even get a link?
Fraternity leaders and members must raise this concern to the USC website admin. A link to the USC-IFSC website should be the best option!

USC-IFSC is THE CAMPUS MARSHALL OF THE UNIVERSITY founded on August 15, 1995. The USC-IFSC is the umbrella organization which recognize and oversees all Fraternities, Sororities and Non-Greek Organizations on the University of San Carlos Campus. Members strive to increase cooperation and communication between the Greek Community and Non-Greek Organizations and the rest of the University. The USC-IFSC seeks to educate its members about Anti-Hazing Policy, Community Service, Multi-Cultural Issues, and Organizaiton Management. The goal is to allow members to become educated, involve and active in their respective organizations and to the USC-IFSC as well.
regarding to this matter our USC-administration this school year will never accept any Greek Letter Society in the campus or Fraternities and Sororities. But USC-IFSC Council will continue serving the University and Community as well are office located the old testing center of USC-TC campus. Doesn't matter we don't have any link website admin of the University is not big deal. We are independent organization now and USC-IFSC since 1995 hardship we been through to be recognized to the campus concern our worth it, we are part of the University of San Carlos because we are also the students and alumni. We are now celebrating our 13th Anniversary of the Council Long live USC-IFSC.
ReplyDeleteSpade ~~ Fraternities and Sororities are part of student life. I agree with the post. Someone from your organization has to make the move via SSC (maybe). Greek life has to be acknowledged by USC administrators.
ReplyDeleteDondon --- We made the move for along time for the past 12 years of the USC-IFSC the USC administrator has acknowledged us; but new admin for this school year they never accepted Fraternities and Sororities in the campus anymore...the President & officers SSC consist of Fratmen and Sorority lady made a petitions to the admin and until now fight is going on so that the Greek society to be acknowledged again. We hope and wait until USC admin will approved the petitions if not we cannot do about it. USC-IFSC mission will continue giving services toward in the University and to the community as well. USC-IFSC celebrating 13th Anniversary now this coming August 15, 2008. Long live....
ReplyDeleteSpade~I wish you and your organization the best. Keep fighting for it. Most of the time the Admin Fathers are deaf of student's voices. I do not know why they can't see what USC-IFSC has done to the student body in general.

well it's great to know that a lot of the students are appreciating the efforts of the fratmen..in my point of view organizations have a very great effect in moulding one's personality and character....the council have done a great effort of detaching the stereotypes that fraternities and sorrorities are only about rumbles and other craps..the council is doing this in service for the school and the students in it and i only hope that the students start to recognize then for that,though being a marshall and and alumni,i know more that being in service is enough and the recognition is just the bonus....tnx 4 having this site where we alumni can interact ang b informed on the whatabouts on the campus...honor and strength..
