University of San Carlos online enrollment, a failure

The University of San Carlos online enrollment is not working. Those who are wishing to get themselves enrolled while having a vacation on a cozy island, sorry to spoil your daydreaming. You have to be at the University, follow a long queue and sweat like crazy to be listed this coming semester.
The USC online enrollment was introduced last first semester AY 08-09. However, there have been a lot of glitches to the system that they have to shut it down for now.

It may resurrect soon.

So, sa pagkakaron, linya lang una ta bay.

REPLY TO THE SSC LEADERSHIP’S CLAIM
    TO: All Carolinians
RE: Today’s Carolinian (The Official Student Publication of the University of San Carlos)
ANOUNCING THE REBIRTH OF TODAY’S CAROLINIAN
The USC SSC proudly reported to all the Carolinians the return of Today’s Carolinian, the official student publication of the University of San Carlos.
IS IT REALLY REVIVED IN THE PRESENT USC SSC ADMINISTRATION?
The USC SSC, through CHRISTINE LOVELY E. RED, flaunted that under her present, proud administration, she has successfully revived the Today’s Carolinian Editorial Board.
During the deprivation of the students of their official student publication, the University suffered several setbacks specifically during the PAASCU accreditation when they deplored the USC administration for not having an official student publication, and when PAASCU eventually took away the Level 3 accreditation status for missing such an important and significant organization in the university. It was then that the USC administration was forced to negotiate with the present SSC Administration for the revival of the Today’s Carolinian.
How dare they assume that it was thru their efforts, how convenient it is for them to omit such important details in the struggle to revive campus press. How selfish it is to claim that it was due to their leadership that such achievement was reached, when it was borne out of the blood and sweat of the CAROLINIANS themselves.
    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who, thru the years, despite the witch-hunts, despite the harassments, despite the fact of not being in the council, still, struggled and outlasted selfish claims to see through the realization of their dreams and witnessed the renaissance of TODAY’S CAROLINIAN. We thank the students of the University, who believed, that even thru the harshest systemic resistance, TODAY’S CAROLINAN, will once again, see the light of day.
And we express our saddest regrets, to those who thought that victory was at hand, when all they witnessed was the final surrender of the enemy, who was brought down by the students themselves, and not some proud interim administration who is only too quick to claim the success of the Carolinian studentry.

    AUTONOMY AND INDEPENDENCE
From the very start, TODAY’S CAROLINIAN has always been independent and autonomous, independent and autonomous from university control and free from meddling partisan interest. The TODAY’S CAROLINIAN has always been viewed as an independent body, that was why it could expose anti student policies of the administration. It is also independent from the Supreme Student Council so that any anomalies of the highest governing body could be subject to its critical jurisdiction.
It is just too unfortunate that the TODAY’S CAROLINIAN has been used as a tool by the present SSC to advance its clearly shameful interests to advance its evident scheme to divest the students of their victory and make it a partisan achievement. This cannot be the purpose of the revival of the campus press, this should not have been the goals of the present SSC administration.
    LEGACY
The revival of TODAY’S CAROLINIAN is one of the legacies of the CAROLINIANS and not just the present SSC administration. Contrary to such egocentric claims, the TODAY’S CAROLINIAN has been revived through the painstaking efforts of the alliance of student organizations who, since its censure has been at the forefront of the struggle to fight for its reinstitution. A repeat of the history of its institution, where honest and sincere student leaders took to the campus halls and streets to rage the battle for a genuine campus press.
To the present Editorial Board, we Carolinians challenge you, to emancipate yourself from the chains of such assuming claims by the present administration of the SSC, led by nothing less than deceiving “leaders” who claim the victory of the students as their own.
To the future SSC Administration, do not be like the present leadership, who claim to be hope warriors when they are just warmongerers among the Carolinians to advance their partisan illusions.

    THE CAROLINIANS
(Hoping that the Elections would result in something way better than the status quo.)

  6. ehem! ah...the online enrollment is separate from the official website (www.usc.edu.ph) for now. if online enrollment shuts down, the website does not. easy lang...no room for bad words. instead, lets just go with the flow coz I too has a lot to say about all this but wa tay mahimo kung cge ra ta pamalikas, bad vibes will just come our way if we do that. So, relax, chill! Let's give our alma matter a chance, alright?
