"Iskolar ng Sun Life" scholarship grants, available

USC announced: Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation, Inc. and Sun Life Financial announce the availability of two (2) slots under the 'Iskolar ng Sun Life' scholarship grant for INCOMING 3rd YEAR STUDENTS effective 1st semester, for SY 2009-2010. The scholarship grants consist of full tuition and matriculation, book allowance, monthly stipend. Applicants must be incoming juniors in the following courses:

* BS Biology
* BS Marine Biology

Benefits of the grant:
School Fees - as specified in the curriculum not to exceed P 15,000 per semester per scholar

Book Allowance - P 4,000.00 / sem / scholar
Stipend - P 10,000.00 / sem / scholar
Total - P 29,000 / sem / scholar

Qualifications
- Must be a Filipino citizen
- Must be of good moral character
- Must be in good health
- Must have a General Weighted Average Grade of 2.0, or its equivalent for all previous individual years of stay with the institution
» No grade lower than 3.0
» No grade of INC
» No Dropped/Withdrawn
» Full load as specified in the curriculum
- Not a recipient of any other scholarship or educational grant
- Not have been subjected to any disciplinary action or suspension by the University, or any agency of the Philippine Government, at any time previous to the application or during its effectivity
- Financially challenged (family annual income of not more than PhP300,000.00)

- Birth Certificate
- Certification from the Student Affairs Office
- Latest/Current Medical Certificate
- Latest/Current Certification of Grades from the Registrar’s Office
- Latest/Current Certification from the Student Affairs Office
- Latest Parents’ Income Tax Returns
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
» From a teacher/professor/instructor within the last 2 years
» From a religious leader of applicant’s religious sector or affiliation
» From the Barangay Captain, Mayor, or Governor of the place where the applicant is a resident or is domiciled
